You see your friend has left the main party to sit outside by the fire. They notice you in the doorway and call you over to sit with them. You walk over and laugh gently, 'Why're you being a loner at the party?'
The fire crackles gently in welcome. Rain hits the tarp above you- there's a storm nearby.
The host's dogs come out to join you. They're loving the attention.
You're certain no one notices you're missing; you can hear the music coming from inside.
But you're okay with that.
Tonight, you feel completely at peace, and you don't want to be anywhere else but by this fire.
