you're somewhere you've never been before. you can't sleep because of the time difference, but it's okay because you feel calm and well rested even after a full day of traveling. the world outside your window is dark and ringing with crickets. it's warm enough for you to leave the window open. your lamp bathes the room in a dim yellow glow and your travel companion pokes their head in your room. neither of you feel like sleeping, so you sit on your bed, softly playing the guitar that was in the corner, until you both fall asleep just as the sun comes up.
