The Queen's Royal Physician
The queen enjoyed watching him work. She would visit late at night, when the day had made her weary, but unable to sleep. It was quiet here. She could almost forget the duties and responsibilities that awaited her the next day. He was silent as he worked, always so attentive in his Old World ways. The candles burned low, and as he penned fresh notes onto parchment, the Queen slept.
