The Herpetologist's Study
People would describe him as eccentric, but respectable. Even though he had strange habits and a rather unusual fashion sense, no one could deny that he was incredibly knowledgable about many topics. One could ask him questions about history, chemistry, physiology or botany and he would almost always be able to answer. If he couldn't, he still would have one or two books on the subject in his library. His passion though was zoology, particularly herpetology. He loved toads, frogs, snakes, birds, and would collect specimens from around the world. He also had the largest arthropod collection in the country. Those few individuals who have entered his house find it hard to forget all the strange devices and odd creatures sitting in bowls and cages, or hanging stuffed on the wall. Some rumors went around of him being a witch, as he also seemed to know things about people that he never could have found out. People have reported finding toads under their beds, or bats in the kitchen. When they are removed from the house, they seem to head straight in the direction of the herpetologist's home...
