The Dream of Suburban Life
There's something subtly enchanting about the idea of suburban life, especially if you were raised lower class like I was. The idea of always being able to trust your neighbor, the sounds of delighted children on their own adventures, and the peace of mind knowing that you can let go and still be safe.
I didn't get that as a child, and don't really intend to now that I'm grown, but I still find the atmosphere puts me in a state of mind I can almost never recreate. So I've tried to recreate it here.
