/ you slowly crack your eyes open, forehead rested on the driver's seat in front of you. it takes a while to adjust; the only light comes dimly from the front of the car. a part of you wonders where you are now, and how much longer you have until you reach your destination. the heat is at full blast, and that combined with the rain outside and your mom's occasional humming causes you to drift off once more.
