It's a hygge afternoon.
Finally, the air has cooled. Finally, the sun sets lower in the sky. And finally, the leaves begin to glide gently through the air as if on a whim, to the dry ground below. It's autumn. And I love to curl up on my favorite chair near the living room windows. The breeze teases the windchimes outside and the clock on the mantle tic-tocs as if to sternly tell the chimes to hush. It's time to read; time to feel my breath rise and fall with each swing of the pendulum. The book is one I've read so many times, the pages stained with thumbprints. But it doesn't matter. I know the story. Time for hygge.
