A ceiling fan fills the room with a low, lazy drone. The clock ticks softly on the wall, counting away the minutes of the day. The radio plays a quiet tune, something from an era long since past. He sighs, flips the page and scans the chicken-scratch of the next student. A cat reminds him of her presence from time to time, brushing against his legs and gently mewing.
The world is quiet.
