Fireplace with piano
The fire is large, almost too big, but the hearth is larger and completely encompasses it. Surprisingly, given the proportions of the room, it is still cozy. This is thanks to the enormous, piled rugs that cover the floorboards, the blankets and sheepskins, the soft curtains that obscure the dim sunlight even further. It is a dark room, but warm in air and ambience.
You didn't always live here. Your mind flits back to hazy days, just as warm, but open, and airy light rooms, where you felt the freedom of the outdoor day, but were not alone.
A quiet gramophone whirls in the corner of the room, soft piano wafting from its horn. You remember a friend recording this piece years ago.
