A Sleepy Evening in the Parlor
You try to stay focused on the well-worn book in front of you; a book that has been read dozens of times over, and not exclusively by you. The fire's crackling reminds you that your face was already warm when you sat in the chair. Your eyes follow the words on the page on the desk, but your mind follows the words spoken in your last conversation with /him/. And, as if your mind couldn't get more distracted and tired of line after line of text, a familiar tune begins to play from upstairs. A curious, experimenting tune that, despite its shaky start, still serves to make you doze in your chair.
